István Virágvölgyi was a member of the 2022 World Press Photo Jury for Europe. This coming Tuesday, he will guide visitors through the current World Press Photo exhibition and offer special insights into the processes behind the scenes of the competition: How does the jury handle the more than 60,000 photographs submitted each year? What are the selection criteria, and what defines a strong image?

István Virágvölgyi is the artistic director and has been a curator at the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center in Budapest since 2014. He has worked at leading Hungarian media outlets such as Origo and the news agency MTI as a chief photo editor, and has taught at the Metropolitan University Budapest as well as the Moholy-Nagy University.
